This website is now an archive and some information may be out of date

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following guides were produced with older people. Their aim is to help older people with long term health conditions and carers think through the housing implications of particular health conditions and make plans accordingly, especially with regard to future housing needs.

Each guide advises on what people can do to their home to make living with these conditions more manageable.

They also describe possible alternative housing options and offer suggestions about where to find more detailed information, advice and help.

Here is a general guide that covers many health conditions:  Making your home a better place to live with a long term health condition

These guides each cover a specific health condition in more detail:

  • Making your home a better place to live with heart disease
  • Making your home a better place to live with respiratory diseases
  • Making your home a better place to live with macular disease
  • Making your home a better place to live after a stroke
  • Making your home a better place to live with dementia
  • Making your home a better place to live with arthritis
  • Common Long Term Health Conditions of Later Life
