The closure of Care & Repair England has absolutely no impact on the continuation of local Care & Repair Agencies, which are all separate legal entities

We are grateful to the former Patrons of Care & Repair England for their long term support for our work to improve older people's homes and lives.

Our Patrons were:

Baroness Greengross OBE

Baroness Greengross is Chief Executive of the International Longevity Centre – UK and Co-President of the ILC Global Alliance

Sally was a Commissioner for the Equality and Human Rights Commission from 2006-12.

Baroness Greengross was Director General of Age Concern England from 1987 until 2000. Until 2000, she was joint Chair of the Age Concern Institute of Gerontology at Kings College London, and Secretary General of Eurolink Age. She is an Ambassador for Alzheimer’s Society, SilverLine and HelpAge International.

Baroness Andrews OBE

Elizabeth (Kay) Andrews OBE, Baroness Andrews of Southover, was Chair of English Heritage from July 2009 July 2013. She served as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Communities and Local Government from May 2005 until May 2009.

Prior to being appointed as Parliamentary Under Secretary, Baroness Andrews was a Government Whip and Spokesperson in the House of Lords for Health, Work and Pensions, and Education and Skills (2003-2005).

She has written books and articles on the history and organisation of science and technology policy, on poverty and social policy, and on education. Baroness Andrews recently authored a report to the Government of Wales on Culture, Heritage and Poverty.

Baroness Eaton DBE DL

Baroness Margaret Eaton of Cottingley, DBE, DL is a Conservative Party life peer in the House of Lords, with a distinguished political career. She has been a Councillor with Bradford Metropolitan Borough Council since 1986 and was chair of the Local Government Association until June 2011.

In recognition of her many services she was awarded Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2003 and made Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in the 2010 New Year Honours. She was also presented with an honorary Doctor of Laws of the University of Bradford in December 2012.
